As Neuroaid Shakti turned one on 1 August, 2023, team NRF could not help but smile at the many milestones achieved together over the past year. The journey was full of learning. A year well spent trying to find our feet in a new home at D 80, Nangal Dewat, Vasant Kunj. Sheer grit, determination and faith in the cause that NRF believes in would keep the team members motivated. From setting up the Centre to welcoming our first patient, from advertising in the Vasant Kunj edition of Samvaad to going door to door to spread awareness about the new Centre during Diwali, from earning our first fee to exempting the first EWS/BPL patient from paying fee, from a staff of four to a staff of nine, Neuroaid Shakti has done it all. Today, as we stand together humbled by the positive feedback from our patients, we also take a moment to pause and introspect on some feedback that has only helped strengthen our zeal to become more sensitive professionals and better human beings.
We decided to celebrate our first birthday not just on 1st August, but throughout the week. Neuroaid Shakti was decorated with balloons. Sweets were distributed to all our adult patients and small gift packets to our children. ‘Happy Birthday’ song was played on the Smart TV all day, to keep the mood celebratory.
Stepping into the second year we hope and pray that each step taken will bring more thrills and less chills. In the words of Robert Frost: “The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have miles to go before I sleep”.
