Musculoskeletal physical rehabilitation
This program is designed to treat patients with diseases or injuries related to bones, joints and soft tissues with the aim of reducing symptoms, improving flexibility and strength, thereby improving functional capacity and the well-being of the patient.
Musculoskeletal conditions that require physical rehabilitation are:
- Acute or chronic arthritis
- Low back ache
- Cervical and lumbar spondylosis
- Post-fracture stiffness
- Repetitive stress injury
- Soft tissue injuries
- Adhesive capsulitis

The key approaches of musculoskeletal rehabilitation used in NRF are:
Pain management: using different electrotherapeutic modalities.
Joint Mobilization: which restores the biomechanics of the joints.
Neural mobilization: to restore the flexibility of nerves and reduce the neural symptoms.
Flexibility training: by stretching, rotation exercises, hydrotherapy, aerobic exercises, etc.
Strength training: manual resistance, free weights, weight cuffs, resistive training with Thera-band, Thera-tubes, dumbbells, etc.
Functional training: exercises performed by incorporating activities of daily living in order to rehabilitate the individuals back in their communities.
