On 22 January 2021, The Neuroaid and Research Foundation (NRF) hosted its fourth webinar: ‘Understanding Medical Imaging in Physiotherapy Practice.’ The session attracted a remarkable turnout, with 124 participants keen to delve into the intricacies of this pivotal aspect of healthcare.
Dr Seema Grover, Head of Physiotherapy, adeptly moderated the enlightening two-hour workshop. The panel featured three distinguished experts: Dr Nitin P Ghonge, Senior Consultant Radiology; Dr Rajagopalan Krishnan, Senior Consultant Spine Surgery and Dr Yash Gulati, Senior Consultant Joints and Spine Surgery – all from Apollo Hospitals Delhi.
Dr Ghonge initiated the discussion by elucidating on the various types of medical imaging, including the T1 and T2 components, offering invaluable insights into their distinct applications. His elucidation underscored how an adept understanding of imaging techniques can empower physiotherapists in accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment planning.
Subsequently, Dr Rajagopalan Krishnan detailed the intricacies of lumbosacral spine and pelvis conditions, presenting pre- and post-surgery scans to facilitate a comprehensive understanding among attendees. Dr Yash Gulati complemented the discourse by shedding light on the utilisation of MR Imaging in diverse knee joint conditions, enriching participants with practical insights.
The interactive Q&A session that ensued provided attendees with an opportunity to glean further insights and clarify queries.
