December 3rd is “International Day of Persons with Disabilities”, observed across the world to spread awareness on Disability issues; to give them due dignity and respect; and educate society, especially the younger generation, on the rights of persons with disabilities. “United in action to rescue and achieve Sustained Development Goals for, with and by persons with Disability” is the theme of 2023.
The Neuroaid and Research Foundation has been providing therapy since 2013, to those with neurological and musculoskeletal problems, and continues to treat and support specially abled sportsmen and women. On the occasion of World Disability Day, The Neuroaid and Research Foundation (NRF) organized free distribution of walking aids to 100 needy people on 11th December 2023 at Rajdhani Hospital, Qutab Road, Paharganj, New Delhi. Mahavir International Delhi played a crucial role in identifying and meticulously documenting the demographics of needy people, facilitating logistics, ensuring they reached the venue on time, had refreshments, etc.
The program commenced with an invocation, followed by an introduction of the philanthropic activities of Mahavir International Delhi, chaired by the dynamic Dr K Narayan. He appreciated the generous gesture of NRF, not only for charitable activities but also as an organization providing outstanding physiotherapy services to society. Ms Rajalakshmi Chandru, Trustee and Chief Functionary of NRF expressed her deep gratitude to Mahavir International Delhi for organizing the event and providing NRF this platform. Team NRF comprising Dr Nidhi Sharma, Dr Ankita Singh and Dr Huzaifa Shahid distributed wheelchairs, walking sticks and walkers to the needy and explained to them the appropriate way to use them. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr K Narayan.
