The year 2025 started on a high note as NRF in an exhilarating 3 km Cross City Race. The event, which aimed to promote physical fitness, foster community engagement, and raise awareness about the importance of health, brought together participants from all walks of life. It kicked off early on a cozy winter morning, with the distribution of white T-shirts beginning at 6:45 am. The excitement was palpable as participants eagerly waited to take part in the day’s festivities.
To get everyone warmed up, the event began with a lively Zumba dance session, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the participants and the enthusiastic audience. The crowd grooved to the beats of the popular song “Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walo,” setting the perfect tone for the day ahead.
Following the fun-filled warm-up, the guests of honor were introduced, with special thanks to Shri Kailash Gahlot for his continuous support. With great enthusiasm, the marathon began, with participants of all ages joining in for the run from and back to the National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR). The marathon saw a fantastic turnout, with people of all ages—young and old—taking part in this healthy and spirited event.
Upon returning, the participants took part in a well-deserved cool-down session, expertly led by a dedicated The Neuroaid & Research foundation team member. The session also saw contributions from an enthusiastic IPU PhD student, adding to the positive energy of the day.
As the marathon concluded, the excitement shifted to the much-anticipated lucky draw, where 30 lucky winners were awarded exciting prizes adding a dash of thrill to the occasion
To wrap up the event on a high note, a healthy and delicious breakfast was served to all participants and team members, ensuring that everyone left with a smile and a full stomach.
This event was a perfect way to start the new year, bringing people together for a day of fitness, fun, and community spirit. NRF’s collaboration with Sri. RamChander Gahlot Trust made this event a memorable one, setting the tone for an exciting year ahead.
As we reflect on the success of the Cross City Race 2025, NRF is committed to expanding and evolving the event in the coming years. The response and enthusiasm from participants this year have shown that there is immense potential to grow this initiative into a larger, more inclusive event that promotes fitness, health, and community engagement. It can be done by increasing the Marathon distance, hosting multiple locations, incorporating wellness workshops, collaborating with other schools and colleges, and engaging more sponsors and partners.
