NRF’s 3rd Webinar : Breast Cancer – A Multimodal Approach

NRF’s third webinar, centred on “Breast Cancer: A Multimodal Approach” saw a successful turnout on August 7th 2020, with 429 participants, of whom 221 remained engaged until the session’s conclusion. Moderated by Dr N Sushila, the 90-minute session featured an esteemed panel comprising Medical Oncologist Dr Manish Singhal, Surgical Oncologist Dr Siddharth Sahni, Radiation Oncologist Dr Sapna Nangia, and Head of Physiotherapy Dr Seema Grover – all of them from the Apollo Hospitals Group.

Dr Singhal debunked common myths surrounding breast cancer, stressing the significance of early detection, awareness of risk factors, and prompt treatment for favourable outcomes. Dr Sahni delved into precautionary measures and the impact of surgical techniques on lymphedema, discussing evidence based approaches, prospective screening, and innovative surgical methods to mitigate lymphatic disruption.

In the subsequent segment, Dr Nangia elucidated on technological advancements enhancing breast cancer management, emphasising breakthrough screening and treatment monitoring technologies. Concluding the session, Dr Grover elucidated on the proven benefits of physiotherapy exercises in managing lymphedema, supported by a demonstration of techniques through a video presentation.

Following a fruitful Q&A session, Dr Sushila extended gratitude to the guest speakers for their insightful contributions and commended NRF for organising impactful educational webinars.
