NRF partners with Nai Udaann at Faridabad

A Health and Physiotherapy Camp was organised by Nai Udaann on 15 April 2023, at DAV College, Faridabad. The venue was chosen by Nai Udaann, given its easy access for persons with disability. Shri Raj Kumar Makkad, Disability Commissioner, Haryana Government, was Chief Guest of the day-long event that featured a blood donation camp, distribution of artificial limbs and a redressal forum for persons with disabilities from nearby areas.
The Neuroaid & Research Foundation {NRF} is the official partner to Nai Udaann for provision of Physiotherapy Services. A two-member team from NRF comprising Dr Ankita Singh, Senior Physiotherapist and Dr Monika Srivastava, Lead Occupational Therapist, along with three 4th year BPT students from GD Goenka Physiotherapy College, Gurugram also participated and provided the necessary clinical support.

The Disability Consumer Redressal Forum was an eye opener for the team; various issues of concern expressed by the specially abled, were addressed by the Disability Commissioner.

About 15 patients including 2 children were assessed during the health camp by NRF  for various issues and a home programme of stretching and exercise was advised.

At the request of the organisers, Team NRF also addressed the gathering.  An introduction about NRF and the facilities being provided by the Foundation was followed by an extremely relevant talk and demonstration by Dr Ankita Singh on ‘How to Prevent Secondary Complications through Exercise and Stretches’. The contribution by NRF was much appreciated and acknowledged by Nai Udaann. Team NRF, with the permission of the organisers, invited Shri Raj Kumar Makkad, the Disability Commissioner, as Guest of Honour  to its 3rd Public Awareness Program scheduled to be held on 10 June 2023.
