The Raisina Bengali School in Chittaranjan Park hosted a complimentary medical camp on August 3, 2025, in partnership with the Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Memorial Society and The Neuroaid and Research Foundation. This initiative, which saw strong participation from students and parents, aimed to educate attendees on proper ergonomics to mitigate posture-related issues, eye strain, and repetitive stress injuries stemming from extended study periods, screen time, and a sedentary lifestyle.
In addition, the educational segment for parents emphasized the cultivation of healthy habits in children, encompassing strategies for minimizing screen time, encouraging proper nutrition and offering posture correction guidance. The program also provided ergonomic recommendations for working parents, regardless of their work environment, with suggestions for ideal chair and desk configurations, laptop stands, and the utilization of protective eyewear to alleviate screen-related eye strain
To enhance the comprehensive care provided, NRF offered physiotherapy and occupational therapy consultations, alongside other specialized services such as dentistry, dermatology, gynecology, ophthalmology, speech therapy, and mental health counseling, all conveniently available to students and parents.
The physiotherapist provides instruction to students on neck and back stretching exercises for muscle relaxation, proper sitting and standing posture, and techniques for lifting heavy objects, as well as the correct way to carry bags using both shoulders. Additionally, the physiotherapy team assesses school staff and parents who report symptoms such as low back pain, shoulder joint pain, knee pain, and other joint-related issues, and encourages them to schedule follow-up sessions at the center.
The occupational therapist at NRF provides individual consultations to students and their parents who are experiencing learning difficulties, offering guidance on establishing healthy habits and fostering a supportive home environment to improve student well-being and enhance productivity.
The NRF’s commitment to organizing medical camps will persist, providing a valuable avenue for the development of a sustainable and impactful community service program.
